I loved photographing in New York. Every corner is a unique composition. I walked upon this store and the blue light was just blinding. It must have been some Euro clothing store because the mannequins looked really weird. Of course I had to get some light trails, so I ran across the street and set up. During the 3 days I got to spend in New York for the International Auto Show, I spent all my free time out in the city shooting. We bought tickets for sunset at the Top of the Rock. I think next time I’ll pay the “day” price and stay up there longer. It’s not like they clear the place out just for the “sunset” people. Every rail was about 3 people deep and it took quite a bit of waiting to get a good spot.
It was a whirlwind trip to NYC and I was trying to squeeze in as much street photography as possible. This was on our last day and I got up early to walk over and shoot the Apple store. On my way there I stopped to set up and shoot this Gucci store window.
It’s a little weird now being back home and not shooting all day out on the streets. I loved being in NYC. I wouldn’t want to live there, but it would be really cool to rent a room for a month there to really take it all in. I wonder which would be the best month to do that?
