It was perhaps the most beautiful place I’d ever seen. Lush vegetation and fresh air was in full force. We had just finished taking a boat tour of Milford Sound. On the walk back to the car, I stopped along the path where the trees cleared a little and took this photo.
Don’t you just love blue hour? I think it may be my favorite time for photography. If you prepared right, you brought a flashlight, some water and a Clif bar for the walk back to your car. It’s not a bad idea to keep peeking back over your shoulder to see if more compositions present themselves.
I had so much fun hanging out with Trey Ratcliff and his family as his guests in Queenstown. He took me to some of the coolest places. He kicked off the tour with a Gondola ride up to this overlook of Queenstown. We enjoyed some wine and had some nice conversation, as well as took some good photos.
Renaissance Festival season is coming up soon and I can’t wait! Burning Man is well over, Halloween is cool and all, but I like to capture the beauty of the Fairies.
It took hiking up a hill through a snowstorm to get to this location. I was wondering where the hell Trey was leading us until we came to this clearing. Then it all made sense.
We had a blast trying out this experimental type of photography at Burning Man. I couldn’t have done it without the coolness of my lovely model Taylor Dyste and the amazing fire spinning of TheMischievous Kate providing the flames in the background. We got several winners that night which I’ll sprinkle in over the coming months.
I went for a quick trip up to Colorado this past weekend with James Brandon to capture some of the beautiful fall colors. Some of the aspens were literally glowing. It’s hard to recreate in a photo the intensity of it all.
Another amazing art installation graces the playa while a giant, golden, fire-breathing dragon flies by. Each day out here is so special and you want to see everything.
